Dolomites From Fassa to Funes Valley

❍ Open Tour

Join us on our 4-day hut-to-hut hiking tour starting in the Fassa Valley and ending in the beautiful Funes Valley!

Thanks to the great experience of our guides, participating in this multi-day hiking tour and sleeping in a "rifugio" is an experience suitable for everyone.

This 4-day tour is recommended for those who want to hike through some of the main groups of the Western Dolomites. Starting from the Catinaccio groups, we will pass by the Sassolungo-Sassopiatto, the magnificent panorama of the Seceda and end up in the beautiful valley of Funes at the foot of the Odle group.
This tour is a jewel through the most beautiful western Dolomites, a great choice!

We hike every day from hut ("rifugio") to hut on less popular and more adventurous trails. The difference in altitude is never excessive and our pace adapts to the needs of the group, including leaving time for taking photos!
At the end of each day, a cozy "rifugio" is waiting for us to regenerate with good food and a warm bed, leaving us ready to discover new peaks and new horizons on the next day!

The technical level required is not for experts but it is necessary to be fit as we are going to backpack from 5 to 7 hours a day.

Whether alone or in the company of your friends, joining this multi-day tour is something you won't forget - contact us for more information.

About Open Tours

During the whole year we organize backpacking tours open to everyone who wishes to participate. Meet new people and have fun while hiking in the most beautiful places in Italy. Bring all your enthusiasm and get ready to share a wonderful experience!

Daily Program

Fassa valley » Catinaccio
Altitude difference: 600 meters over 6 kilometers

We meet in Bolzano at 9 AM, ready to take the bus that will take us to the starting point of the tour (about 60 minutes travel).
This first day of backpacking is "soft" and we hike on comfortable paths. We are in the heart of the Catinaccio, a beautiful Dolomite group that separates Bolzano from the Fassa Valley. Our first "rifugio" is small and located in an incredible place.

The city of Bolzano can be easily reached by car or by high-speed trains.

Catinaccio » Sassolungo
Altitude difference: 1000 meters over 14 kilometers

Let's leave early for the most challenging day of the entire tour, this is going to be a 100% Dolomite day!
We will have hike through typical paths, admiring the enchanting environment that surrounds us. Don't worry, thanks to the company of our guides and the group, everything will be easier and funnier!

Sassolungo » Gardena Valley
Altitude difference: 800 meters over 14 kilometers

After the hard hike of the previous day, this third day is softer. During the whole day, the Odle and the Sassolungo will accompany us making everything easier.
During the day we will pass through a "secret" path at the bottom of the majestic north face of the Sassolungo, one of the most impressive walls of the Alps! In the afternoon we will enter the Natural Park Puez-Odle on the side of the Seceda group.

Gardena Valley » Funes Valley
Altitude difference: 800 meters over 12 kilometers

We are in one of the most enchanting places of the Dolomites. From our "rifugio" we will cross the Odle to go to the other side where we will see new wonderful panoramas.
After a well-deserved lunch in one of the most beautiful mountain huts of the Dolomites, our tour draws to a close. The arrival point is in one of the most photographed places in the Dolomites.

The tour is scheduled to end between 1 and 3 PM. From the end point, we use public transportation to easily go back to Bolzano in about 90 minutes.
